Leontine has been working as a vocal coach for over 10 years. Leontine
will address, explain and solve any vocal problems or performance problems
you may have found challenging. She will help you build up a solid vocal technique,
explain vocal qualities anatomically and physiologically, and guide you in your choice
of repertoire. Leontine is a very practical, positive and down-to-earth teacher. She
believes in building up the confidence of her singers, encouraging them to behave like
artists who are being coached, rather than students who are being taught. She believes
that the work done in the Studio should relate directly to your work as a performer.
She will also make you aware of any negative habits you may have that could hold you
back as a performer, and push and encourage you tirelessly. Leontine is very involved in
guiding her students in order to expand their careers. She is a passionate and experienced
'life coach' for performers and supports her singers to the full. Leontine also deals with
all other areas of performance practice such as the psychological issues, physical hurdles
such as postural alignment, issues with tongue and jaw tension and laryngeal manipulation
and release of the tongue root. She will suggest appropriate repertoire and help
you prepare songs which will suit your casting.
Leontine is an experienced and successful audition coach. She has guided many singers through successful west-end auditions. Leontine specialises in teaching professional and aspiring musical theatre singers and also pop/rock singers and singer/song writers. Many of her clients are currently in West End shows.
Leontine is the regular columnist for the Voice Clinic Column at voicecouncil.com. She gives workshops and lectures on singing, voice and performance internationally. Leontine is a consultant for various establishments in the recording industry and was recently on Sky 1's 'Pineapple' program with one of her students who played Michael Jackson in the west -end hit show 'Thriller Live'.

Leontine Hass (BA.Melb Uni, BMus Kings College London, Dip. RAM) completed her Music Degree at the Victorian College of the Arts and the Royal Academy of Music, majoring as a singer. She also holds a degree in English Literature and European History from the University of Melbourne.
As a singer she has given numerous recitals and cabarets. Her acting work in theatre, film and television includes series for Channel 4 and ITV. As a vocal coach, Leontine has taught at the GSA Conservatoire, the Oxford School of Drama and Mountview Academy. She regularly teaches masterclasses at the Associated Studios and has given numerous lectures/workshops on voice and performance internationally. She has a busy private practice comprising professional singers, west-end performers and recording artists. Leontine is the regular 'voice clinic' columnist for voicecouncil.com. She also acts as a consultant for various establishments in the recording industry.
Leontine is the Founder/Director of Associated Studios, The Word and Music Company and Designers Studio, which are based at the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, London.

The Associated Studios is a collection of studios for professional musical theatre singers,classical singers, actors, writers and directors. The Associated Studios contains The Advanced Performers Studio and Pre-Production Studio. There are regular workshops for new writing, both straight plays as well as musical theatre and operas.It also holds workshops for performers with industry professionals.
Leontine recently founded The Word and Music Company. The Word and Music Company is currently producing two shows for 2011:
'Underneath the Mango Tree' will be co-authored by Tommy Cowan, Bob Marley's former road manager and former MD of Island Records, and Playwright/Director Che Walker. The play will tell intimate stories about Bob Marley by a group of old Jamaican men.
'Londonstani' is an adaptation of Gautam Malkani's cult classic novel by the same name. The celebrated asian music producer Rishi Rich will be creating the music.
The shows will be co-directed by Leontine Hass and Lorne Campbell.

Musical Theatre Summer Schools For Young Performers 2010

Each intensive course runs for six 8-hour days, culminating in a performance to which friends and family are invited. All the Coaches, Tutors, Musical Directors and Directors who teach on the course are established and eminent industry professionals, many of whom
work regularly in the West End. The courses are ideal for any performer giving them a taste of the rigours and skills required to pursue a career in the arts.
The Musical Theatre course includes Dance, Improvisation, Physical Theatre and Text Work with a major focus on Singing Performance and Voice Craft.

Three Month Intensive Musical Theatre Course
2010 COURSE 1:
Saturdays, Sundays & Wednesdays, 22 September to 12 December
2010 COURSE 2:

2011 COURSES:
Course 1: 10 January to 7 April. Course 2: 12 January to 10 April
VENUE: RIVERSIDE STUDIOS, CRISP RD, HAMMERSMITH, LONDON.
APS runs a 3-month intensive musical theatre course twice a year.
Courses run January-March, and September - December. Courses will run on three days and two evenings a week, averaging 24 hours per week. The course is for 12-15 exceptionally talented singer/actors, who have the potential and ability to become principal artists in the Musical Theatre industry. The course will focus on developing and refining the singer/actor's existing vocal, acting and dance skills, whist developing stamina, working with industry professionals and being on a rigorous schedule, working all the required disciplines.
There will be weekly one-to-one coaching sessions with a singing teacher and a repertoire coach, as well as group lessons in Acting and Dance. There will be two Singers Performance classes per week as well as regular masterclasses with eminent West End Directors, Casting Directors, Agents, Composers, Performers and Musical Directors.
